June 30, 2012--The Wise Man Built His House Upon a Rock

Saturday we went to a good-by picnic for ladies in the International Women's Club of Montenegro who are leaving Podgorica.  It was held at a country home of one of our members--just outside of Podgorica in the mountains (families were invited).  I want to show you this, because THIS IS MONTENEGRO:

The foundation is built into this rock.

This is the front yard.

The owner told Craig that his father built part of this wall, he built part of this wall as a boy, and he built part of this wall as an adult.  We believe that his grandfather was the first builder of the house. . . three generations.

This is the backyard.  There are palm trees, evergreen trees, fig trees, pomengranate trees (the ones with the orange blossoms that I have been showing you) among giant rocks.

More back yard . . .

This is the view of Podgorica from the house.

The lady in the middle with the long dark hair has a husband with family history in Montenegro going back 700 years.  She said to me, "You are about the future.  We are about family, traditions, and history."  This is a true snap shot of Montenegro.
