My most favorite part of crossing the Montenegro/Albanian border is seeing the animals on or along the highway. It is only for a few miles after we cross into Albania. This is my best picture. The lady just brought her cows out onto the road. When the oncoming truck honked, one cow casually wandered out of the way. This picture is taken through our front car window.
Another day as a lady was herding her cow along the side of the road, she walked along knitting a rich color of purple yarn into something. Today we passed a lady waiting for an opening in the traffic, so she could bring her four cows onto the highway.
Coming home today from a meeting we were greeted by these sheep as we approached the border.
The animals always look clean and beautiful. I wonder, "Do you wash each one?"
We have also seen a couple of donkeys and a small herd of goats. The road is wide and we usually can drive around them quickly. It's fun.
